Introduction
Welcome to Tech2Med! We are a non-profit organization that empowers students to explore the exciting intersection between medicine and the latest technology. In today’s world, innovations, such as 3D modeling and medical imaging technology, are reshaping healthcare. We believe that young minds are the tools that we need for future breakthroughs in this subject.
Our story began when two high school students grew tired of trying to find programs that help them dive into their passions. Anika Saha, interested in technology, and Sriya Talari, interested in healthcare, noticed that it has become extremely difficult for students to dedicate their time to schoolwork, while also trying to find extracurricular programs that are in fields that they are passionate about. So, they decided to come together and join their interests to give students the opportunity to explore a subject that they are intrigued with in an easy and accessible way. And what subject can combine technology and medicine better than biotechnology? Recognizing the lack of resources for students eager to work with biotechnology, they set out to create an organization that brings these students closer to this fast-evolving field.
Our Mission
At Tech2Med, we’re here to inspire and equip the next generation of innovators in biotechnology. Through hands-on workshops, webinars with biotech professionals, and tours with companies that are involved with biotech, we aim to give students the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue and make an impact on this field.
Programs & Services
Our programs focus on providing students with the tools to understand and experiment in the fields of health and technology. Curious about what we have accomplished so far?
ASCO 2024: In June 2024, our co-founder, Anika Saha, attended the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Annual Meeting in Chicago where she interviewed health professionals, including the Chief Medical Officer of WebMD, Dr. John Whyte. Her goal was to gather insight and teach students about the emerging technology dedicated to shaping healthcare in the upcoming years. You can find all of her interviews on our Instagram page: @tech2med

Walgreens Micro Fulfillment Center Tour: In September 2024, Tech2Med organized a tour of Walgreens’ Micro Fulfillment Center in Bolingbrook, IL where students had the opportunity to learn how Walgreens utilizes medical robots and advanced technology to package and distribute medications. You can find pictures and videos of the tour on our Instagram page: @tech2med
Discussions With Doctors: In October 2024, Tech2Med hosted a webinar featuring cardiologist Dr. Shub Agarwal and anesthesiologist Dr. Jalala Piska, offering students real-world examples of how doctors incorporate medical technology into their daily practice.
Biotechnology Fair #1: In October 2024, Tech2Med organized its first biotechnology fair catered to students in middle school and high school. This fair gave students hands-on experiences in areas, such as 3D modeling in healthcare and medical imaging technology. You can find pictures of the fair on our Instagram page: @tech2med

We are excited to give students more opportunities to dive into the field of biotechnology in the upcoming months!
